Guidelines

Below I have outlined policies and guidelines that will help us have a smooth and successful relationship.

Practice: For necessary improvements and progress to be made, students must come prepared to move forward each lesson. Practice outside of a lesson will determine how much progress a student can make. At least 30 minutes, 5 days a week is recommended.

Cancellations: Out of respect for my schedule a minimum notice of 24 hours for cancellation is required. If you forget about your lesson, are late, or do not cancel with at least 24 hours notice, you will be charged the full price of your lesson. If you must cancel within 24 hours due to an emergency, a possible make up lesson with no additional cost may be offered at my discretion.

Make Up Lessons: All missed or cancelled lessons can be made up. Make up lessons are offered on weekends and are no additional charge if you have cancelled with at least 24 hours notice. A lesson should be made up within 1 month of the cancelled date, and only 1 lesson should be made up at a time to ensure progress.

June's Piano Recital: The most exciting part of the season is our annual Piano Recital in June. My students and I look forward to sharing all the hard work and progress made throughout the season with family, friends, and loved ones. That's why I take great pride in producing an occasion that is delightful and memorable for everyone. All students will have the opportunity to prepare at least 1 or more piano pieces for June's Piano Recitals.

Vacations: With advanced notification of an upcoming vacation your regularly scheduled time slot will be reserved. If a summer vacation/break is taken for an extended period of time, it is recommended that you put down a deposit of 2 lessons in order to reserve a guaranteed spot for the upcoming season. The deposit will be credited towards your lessons upon return. Without a deposit there are no guarantees a spot will be available.

Love It!: Playing a musical instrument is an admired ability, one that my students appreciate more and more each season. Together, we will work to strengthen the skills necessary to complete musical pieces you'll love to play. Play what you love and you'll love what you play!
